Ashlar Vellum Announces Designer Elements: a New Generation of Products
MacWorld Expo, New York - 18 July 2001 Ashlar®-Vellum® announced today their next generation of precision design software: Designer Elements. Built on Ashlar-Vellums industry leading ease-of-use and robust functionality, this new line of design software adds customer-driven enhancements and breakthrough pricing to six new products. The Designer Elements product line includes Graphite, Neon, Argon, Xenon, and Cobalt. While continuing to uphold Ashlar- Vellums drafting and industrial design customers, this new product line up also embraces professionals doing precision 3D web, print and broadcast content creation. Available on both Macintosh® and Windows® platforms, the suggested retail prices range from $495 to $3995. Ashlar-Vellum has been listening intently to our customers needs over the last year, said Robert Bou, president of Ashlar-Vellum. We have taken our former product line, including Vellum Solids, expanded its power and rolled out fresh, superior products, including our new flagship, Cobalt. But some customers dont need all the power of our top end program. Xenon and Argon are now available to fill their needs. By offering a varying array of products at value price points, Ashlar- Vellum gives design professions exactly the tools they need for their particular job. Graphite Professional Drafting Upholding Ashlar-Vellums commitment to increased productivity for traditional drafting techniques, Graphite enhances design creativity while maintaining demanding precision and exacting drafting standards. It facilitates rapid drawing creation, variation in shapes, and design iterations required to bring new ideas into production. Graphite enables the design of interesting shapes and pleasing curves more rapidly than any other CAD software available, said Bou. It allows our customers to focus on the task at hand, not on running the software. Graphites MSRP is $995. Neon 3D Publishing The key to winning advance orders and contract commitments is exact 3D product presentation prior to production. Neon provides the tools that sales and marketing teams need to turn precise engineering data into 3D presentations that close sales. Neon directly utilizes 3D engineering models to create marketing models, renderings and animations for the web or print, including web formats such as Shockwave 3D. Neon retails for $495. Argon Advanced 3D This advanced 3D program integrates precision free-form NURBS surfaces and solids. It includes surface verification, advanced photo-realistic rendering and animation in an exceptionally powerful, easy-to-use, and affordable package that sells for $995. Xenon Extreme ID Ideal for the industrial designer, Xenon integrates associative, history based model modification techniques and associative 2D mechanical drafting into Argons ease of use, robust power, and photo-realistic presentation capabilities. The association technology at the heart of Xenon allows for rapid reworks of entire projects just by changing the shape of an initial curve. Xenon retails for $2795. Cobalt Product Design Positioned for high-performance design and development, Cobalt features an engineering toolset thats built directly on the technologies used in Argon and Xenon. Cobalt provides 2D and 3D equation-driven parametrics and assembly tools, which include constraint management, associative detail and section views, and production injection molding capabilities. We consider Cobalt the ultimate product design and development tool, says Bou. This is an impressive upgrade to the award winning Vellum Solids product. Cobalts retail price is $3995. Founded in 1988 in Santa Clara, California, Ashlar is now located to Austin, Texas. The company develops and markets products that automate and simplify the design process. The company's products are available for Windows and Macintosh OS-based systems.
