Belgian Railways Selects DrawingSearcher by Docupoint

DrawingSearcher to be used to Provide On-line Access to Railway's Maintenance Drawings

SUNNYVALE, California - July 12, 2001 - Docupoint announced today that Belgian Railways has selected DrawingSearcher v2.5 to manage AutoCAD drawings used in the operations and maintenance of the railway's rolling stock. DrawingSearcher is a document search and web publishing application for AutoCAD that combines the functionality of a web server, full text search engine and Docupoint's acclaimed Whip-n-Post! DWF (Drawing Web Format) web publishing application.

DrawingSearcher will be used by Belgian Railways to publish the latest revision of each drawing on the agency's Intranet making it easy to locate required drawings on-line, create red lines, and print hard copies. An important consideration in the selection process was DrawingSearcher's automatic Whip-n-Post! DWF rendition capability. By making a copy of the drawing available as a DWF file Belgian Railways is able to protect the original DWG file from unauthorized changes.

DrawingSearcher will be installed at Belgian Railways' Mechelen facility; the primary location for the overhaul and modernization of passenger coaches and electric multiple-unit sets.
