Autodesk Begins Shipping Latest AutoCAD 2002New Releases Enhance Workflow Efficiency for Manufacturing, AEC, and GIS Customers; New Network License Management Capabilities for AutoCAD 2002 Product Line New Autodesk Rental Program
SYDNEY - July 6, 2001 - Autodesk (Nasdaq: ADSK) is now shipping the first products in its new AutoCAD 2002 product line, the latest generation of its core design software, including three general design and five industry-specific applications for Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC), Manufacturing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Based on the new AutoCAD 2002 foundation, the new releases extend the power and functionality of AutoCAD software to particular markets with capabilities for solving technical and business problems unique to each industry. Designed to not only accomplish single tasks faster and more accurately, the new applications also leverage digital design data in an automated process that improves how designers work with customers, colleagues, and suppliers. Each product's enhancements are centered on tightly integrating Autodesk's proven design capabilities with the distribution powers of the Internet and mobile computing as well as new tools and functionality built in for data integration, collaboration, and data delivery to the point of work. The new applications also feature an integrated desktop and Internet work environment through Autodesk Point A, a customisable global access website from Autodesk. On Point A, users get seamless access to a wide variety of resources including Autodesk products, up-to-date industry information, newsletters, and a forum to exchange ideas and collaborate with colleagues.
