Madison Metro School District Chooses DrawingSearcher by DocupointDistrict Chooses DrawingSearcher Intranet Portal for Facility Documentation
SUNNYVALE, California - June 28, 2001 - Docupoint announced today that Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) has selected DrawingSearcher v2.5 to provide on-line access to the District's AutoCAD drawing files through a custom web portal interface. DrawingSearcher is a document search and web publishing application for AutoCAD that combines the functionality of a web server, full text search engine and Docupoint's acclaimed Whip-n-Post! DWF (Drawing Web Format) publishing application. "In less than one day we were able to bring our facility drawings on-line as web enabled DWF files that are fully searchable through the DrawingSearcher intranet portal," said Tom Germanson, Micro Computing Manager for MMSD. "With 47 buildings and 12 remote sites, we can now share current building information from any internal location to help foster effective communications. We were able to install DrawingSearcher and customize the portal interface to our organization's needs with ease. The hardware requirements for the program are simple while its functionality is robust." "MMSD's installation further validates DrawingSearcher as the leading Intranet publishing solution for facility drawings," added Brad Bishop, CEO of Docupoint. "With DrawingSearcher it's all gain with none of the pain. DrawingSearcher's ease of deployment is simply unmatched in the industry." DrawingSearcher runs on any Microsoft Window 95/98/NT/2000 computer as the DrawingSearcher web server. Client computers require only a browser and Autodesk's FREE Volo View Express or WHIP! viewer to access the server. More information on DrawingSearcher including a fully functional downloadable demo can be obtained from Docupoint's web site at http://www.docu-point.com. Madison Municipal School District is located Madison, Wisconsin. With 25,000 students in 45 schools, Madison was named the best place for education in Money Magazine's 1997 survey of the nation's 300 largest metropolitan areas.
