ULMA Group (Spain) selects Solid Edge

ST. LOUIS, MO - February 6, 2001 - Unigraphics Solutions Inc. (NYSE: UGS) today announces that ULMA Packaging and ULMA Construction, based in Onati, Guipuzkoa (Spain), have selected Solid Edge as its corporate product design system. The initial contract includes 45 licenses of Solid Edge, with more planned during the next two years.

ULMA cited multiple reasons for selecting Solid Edge. "Coherence in product management solutions will allow ULMA to use completely integrated solutions," says Fernando Gorostidi, industrial director at ULMA Packaging. "Also important was the high level of customer support services we have experienced from Unigraphics Solutions and its Value Added Reseller. Additionally, Solid Edge fully met the specifications set forth in the selection process: easy to use, quick startup, Windows-native environment, productivity in design and capability for project management."

Maria Jose Lombide, a designer with ULMA Construction, highlighted organizational and technical merits of Unigraphics Solutions, its Value Added Reseller and the product Solid Edge. "The first and foremost reason for the selection of Solid Edge is the confidence inspired by both organizations Unigraphics Solutions and Pixel Sistemas during the analysis phase of the selection process," says Lombide. "The technical aspects have been important as well." Lombide also applauded Solid Edge for its capabilities to directly open DGN format documents, as well as provide for quick and accurate drafting capability.
