The Largest CAD/CAM Conference in the Southwest March 12 through 14, 2001, Arlington, Texas

IRVING, Texas - February 6, 2001 - Avatech Solutions, the nation's leading provider of design automation software, training, and integration services, is pleased to announce that designexpo.01 will be held from Monday, March 12 to Wednesday, March 14 at the Arlington Convention Center located at 1200 Ballpark Way in Arlington, Texas.

Designexpo.01 is the most comprehensive event of its kind in the Southwest, showcasing the latest technology tools for Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Multimedia professionals. In addition, there will be 36 workshops and breakout presentations, many offering continuing education training credits for design professionals. These sessions will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. each day. Over 40 industry-related exhibits will be on display from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 13, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 14, 2001.

Over 3,000 architects, engineers, mechanical designers, and multimedia professionals are anticipated. According to Greg Blackwell, district manager for Avatech Solutions, Inc., those who attend will be looking for new ideas and resources to improve productivity and quality craftsmanship.

"This is a great way for these professionals to stay current and learn about new products, new technology and new techniques," said Blackwell. "There is currently no other forum in this region that gives them an opportunity to see all of these services and solutions presented under one roof."

Some topics include "Autodesk Architectural Solutions;" "2D to 3D Transition for Manufacturers;" "Document Management Solutions;" and "Visualization." Training sessions for continuing education credits include, but are not limited to, workshops on plotting, Autodesk Architectural Desktop, and 3D Studio Viz.
