Delcam to Expand Italian Subsidiary

Birmingham, UK, Wednesday, August 09, 2000 (CADcopydesk) -- Delcam, the leading international supplier of machining software for toolmakers, is to expand its Italian subsidiary, Delcam Italia, following record sales of its Power Solution programs in the country during the first half of this year. Almost thirty per cent more new customers were recruited by Delcam Italia during the first six months of this year compared to the same period during 1999. Sales of software and services in Italy increased by just over 20% compared to the first six months of last year. Sales of upgrades and training to existing customers also showed strong growth. Particular success has been seen in the footwear industry with a number of new customers transferring to Delcam software.

Delcam Italia currently operates from headquarters in Gallarate, near Milan, and three regional offices, in Turin, Padova and Porto San Giorgio. The expansion plans will include the opening of an additional office in Bologna, plus the recruitment of additional sales and support staff in the existing offices.

Commenting on the expansion plans, Delcam’s Managing Director, Hugh Humphreys said, “We have been delighted with the level of sales made in Italy so far this year and we are optimistic that a similar level of growth will be achieved for the remainder of the year.” “Italy is one of the most important markets for CADCAM software in Europe and we are confident that our increased investment in Delcam Italia will help us to increase our market share in the country.”
