CADCAM-E.COM Announces Enhanced CATIA Translator for SolidWorksFARMINGTON HILLS, MI - August 2, 2000 - CADCAM-E.COM has announced the release of the SolidWorks to CATIA translation module of CIMSW-Cat, the premium direct CATIA translator that works from within the SolidWorks environment. Users can download and perform translations with the new SolidWorks to CATIA translator on a pay-per-use basis for only $1 per model/part until August 11, 2000. CIMSW-Cat is a SolidWorks integrated application, providing seamless data exchange. It is ideal for SolidWorks users who have to work with CATIA data but do not have access to CATIA software. It has the same "look and feel" as other SolidWorks applications, allowing the end-user to be productive within minutes of installing the product , thus furthering our vision of providing "flat learning curve" interoperability solutions. Initially released in February 2000, CIMSW-Cat has now been enhanced to seamlessly export CATIA V4 compatible data from SolidWorks parts and assemblies. CATIA-Independent CIMSW-Cat does not require CATIA software or license. No pre- or post-processing of the data is required on the CATIA host. It works with the native data format files. CIMSW-Cat reads CATIA models from Versions 3.x and 4.x, writes CATIA models compatible with CATIA V4 and requires SolidWorks 99 as a minimum. Both EXPORT format files and .model format files from CATIA on UNIX and IBM mainframes are supported.
