Revit Technology Corporation Customers Endorse Parametric Building Modeler

Revolutionary Architectural Rapidly Gains Wide Acceptance in First 90 Days of Availability

WALTHAM, Mass. - July 25, 2000 - Revit Technology Corporation, creator of the first parametric building modeler for the AEC industry, today announced that its flagship product, Revit™, has received rapid acceptance and overwhelmingly positive reviews following its introduction.

More than 100 AEC firms - including five of the top 10 architectural firms in the country - have purchased Revit subscriptions and begun using the product in its first 90 days of availability. Revit Technology continues to gain momentum as it prepares for the August release of Revit 2.0, which will deliver to new and current subscribers many new features including detailing, project costing and massing.

Included among Revit's user base are hundreds of architects, engineers and designers from small, mid-size and large firms, all of which have leveraged Revit Technology's superior, e-business based direct sales, support and training as they begin their transition to Revit.

"Every time I use Revit, I am amazed," said Arnold Bunkley, AIA, vice president of Marshburn/Bunkley Associates, a 14-person, full-service architectural firm based in Michigan. "Using Revit accelerates our design cycles and dramatically improves our ability to collaborate with clients using quality, 3D models." Architects at Marshburn/Bunkley Associates have used Revit to design a medical clinic, a senior citizen center and several residences. The firm selected Revit for its ease of use and has found that principals and associates with varying levels of CAD experience can all collaborate and design buildings on the system.

At Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WAT&G), the world's leading design consultant for the hospitality, leisure and entertainment industries, architects are also enthused about the time they will save using a parametric building modeler. Ranked the top architectural firm in the world in the hospitality/leisure and hotel/restaurant sectors according to past annual surveys conducted by World Architecture magazine, WAT&G has designed more hotels and resorts than any other firm in the world with projects in 120 countries and territories.

"With Revit, designers can focus their attention on building design without having to worry about the technical computing aspects of CAD," said James J. Balding, AIA, manager of new architectural technologies at WAT&G. "With Revit, the coordination of the design and construction documents is handled automatically, which enables us to develop and deliver better projects with greater speed, accuracy and efficiency. Just as important, the responsive assistance we've received from the support and training staff at Revit Technology has proven Revit a valuable ally in WAT&G's commitment toward object model technology."

"Given the frustrations that AEC professionals have long experienced with other architectural CAD products, we knew Revit would be well received," said David Lemont, CEO of Revit Technology Corporation. "Customer response has exceeded our high expectations, as Revit users have overwhelmingly endorsed both our parametric building modeler and our e-business model. We are confident that our next release will accelerate migration from legacy CAD products to Revit."

Based in large part on the substantial feedback the Company received from its initial customers, Revit Technology is delivering on its promise to provide major releases of its product on an aggressive development schedule. The August release of Revit 2.0 will be available over the Internet or on CD-ROM to current subscribers for no additional upgrade charge. The low, monthly charge for a Revit subscription always includes all maintenance, enhancements, online training and toll-free client support.

"Our software engineers have been working around the clock to develop the important functionality our customers have requested," said Leonid Raiz, CTO and co-founder of Revit Technology Corporation. "With the release of Revit 2.0, we will have demonstrated our commitment to improve our product and deliver the best available technology on a rapid schedule."

The Company's distributed learning and Internet-based sales and service have also served to bolster Revit Technology's acceptance across the industry. Each day, Revit users participate in Web-based training sessions, enabling them to improve their expertise on the product. The Company has also successfully leveraged the Internet to develop direct relationships with clients large and small to ensure they're receiving the most value from their subscriptions.

Revit is the only software system on the market that empowers architects and building professionals to make changes anytime, anywhere in the design process while its context-driven parametric change engine ensures complete consistency of all drawings in the project. The software system may be downloaded from the company's Web site, or installed from a CD-ROM available directly from the company.
