Intercad Announces launch of CosmosWorks 6.0

FRENCHS FOREST, NSW - July, 24, 2000 - Intercad Pty Ltd ANZ announces the forthcoming release of COSMOS/Works version 6.0 developed by Structural Research & Analysis Corp. (SRAC). CosmosWorks is a mainstream design analysis package fully optimized to be embedded in SolidWorks 2000.

COSMOS/Works, already the market leading Gold Partner for SolidWorks designs, breaks new ground with version 6.0. COSMOS/Works 6.0 includes enhanced shell analysis using improved midsurface extraction and SolidWorks 2000 surfaces, enhanced contact analysis that includes surface-to-surface contact, an ability to selectively apply bonded, node to node gap or surface contact to different sections of assemblies, and p-method support. This latest version will also feature faster postprocessing speed and faster solvers. COSMOS/Works also contains new add-on options such as COSMOS/Flow.

"With the inclusion of the advanced new features in COSMOS/Works 6. 0, engineers will now have a powerful, easy to use tool that delivers high-end design analysis capabilities at a fraction of the cost of traditional FEA software," says Paul Ganz, Managing Director of Intercad Pty Ltd.

COSMOS/Works handles user-specific needs - from conceptual designs and engineering large assemblies, to web-based visualization. COSMOS/Works features native Windows? integration and full associativity with SolidWorks. In addition to the basic design analysis capabilities of stress, strain, displacement, frequency, buckling and both steady-state and transient thermal analyses, COSMOS/Works also offers intermediate and advanced bundles, which contain assembly analysis with gap/contact, optimization, nonlinear, dynamic response, fatigue and low frequency electromagnetic analysis capabilities.

With COSMOS/Works 6.0, SolidWorks users have a complete low-cost simulation and optimization tool. Users can perform motion simulation with programs such as Dynamic Designer/Motion 2000 from Mechanical Dynamics, Inc., and automatically transfer the results to COSMOS/Works for analysis  - without ever leaving the SolidWorks environment. For engineers with specialized design analysis needs, COSMOS/Flow offers powerful, easy-to-use fluid flow analysis without sacrificing speed or accuracy.

COSMOS/Works 6.0 is scheduled for release August 1, 2000.
