CPU FAQ
What is CPU? CPU (CAD Professional's Update) is a email newsletter published in conjunction with the www.CADinfo.net website. Access to the newsletter is by subscription and as of November 2004 subscriptions are double opt-in. This means that you must re-confirm your sign-up to the list. If you do not re-confirm you will not be added to the list. How many subscribers do you have? As of 1 March 2006 we have 11,000+ subscribers on the CPU list. What do you mail out under the title of CPU? The principal mailout is a newsletter comprising editorial and advertising content. All content is relevant to our target readership of architects, engineers and design professionals generally. Occasionally we will mail out a special interest piece (no more than once a month) comprising advertising only. This is only sent to an appropriate demographic group. Completing the demographic information in your subscription details will ensure that you do receive information that is of interest to you and conversely that you don't receive information that is of no interest to you. I have not provided anymore than my email address. What do you mean by referring to "subscription details"? Subscribers joining the list prior to November 2004 only ever provided an email address. Subscribers joining since November 2004 had the opportunity to provide full details on sign-up. All subscriber have the opportunity to modify subscription details at any time by logging into the newsletter web interface. Here you will be able to add or modify the following details...
Only the email address is essential. However completely as much information as you are comfortable with will help filter information of interest to you through this mailing list. I don't use the email address I am subscribed as. What do I do? Unsubscribe using the link at the foot of a CPU newsletter, or, send the address you want removed to webmaster@cadinfo.net Subscribe again using your correct email address. I have never received a password. How do I get my password? Your subscription was assigned a password when the CPU list was moved into the DBM eNewsletterPro list management system, or when you signed up. Forgotten or don't know your password? Click here to retrieve your password. Your password will be emailed to you. Why does the newsletter interface look different to CADinfo.NET? Our newsletter management system is managed by CADinfo.NET's parent publishing company, Digital Business Media (DBM). This system will ultimately manage all DBM's email newsletters and is not specifically aligned with any particular website. How do I get off the mailing list/unsubscribe/leave/stop receiving mail? Every CPU message you receive will have an opt-out link at the foot of the page. Clicking this link takes you to a page where you can unsubscribe and otherwise manage you email address with us. Proceeding with the unsubscribe removes you from the list immediately. You can of course resubscribe at any time through our double opt-in subscription process. I'm on the list. Why don't I get CPU in my Inbox? Check your anti-spam filters. Many ISPs offer this facility and many people also operate filters right on their own computers. Set your email filters to ACCEPT mail from enews@dbm.com.au (IP 203.89.207.196). Why are you spamming me? We do not send unsolicited email or spam anyone. You are on the CPU mailing list because you voluntarily and deliberately joined and confirmed membership. We go to great lengths to prevent email addresses being added to our lists by accident or fraudulently. We cannot stop spammers sending you mail under the guise of a CPU mailout. Spammers use every trick known, and many unknown, to bypass your defences and piggy-back the reputation of valuable newsletters like CPU. Only email sent by enews@dbm.com.au and originating from mail.dbm.com.au (IP 203.89.207.196) is an authentic CPU delivery. Please set your anti-spam/friend filters accordingly. Where is your privacy policy? http://www.cadinfo.net/privacy.htm Where do I join CPU? http://www.cadinfo.net/newsletter/default.htm You need some decent editorial. How do I contribute? http://www.cadinfo.net/newsletter/contributions.htm How does my company advertise or sponsor CPU mailouts, or mail to the CPU mailing list? The CPU mailing list has been built and maintained over many years. If you have a message that is relevant to CAD-using technical professionals, then we will consider including your message in the select stream of information channelled through CPU. For more information on what exposure in CPU can do for you, please email sales@cadinfo.net
