SIMA Shipbuilders Use ALGOR FEA to Design Dredging Barge for NATURAL GAS LIQUIDS Pipeline

SIMA Peru S.A. designed and manufactured this steel barge with spud legs, named Leyla, which carried a 180-ton excavator to dredge an undersea canal in Pisco Bay off the Pacific coast of Loberia. When undersea piping was needed to complete a South American pipeline project that traverses the Amazon jungle and the Andes Mountains to the Pacific coast, ALGOR finite element analysis (FEA) software was chosen to help get the job done quickly and economically.
