Complete Home is a bundle comprising is Home Architect 2.0 (the main application), Photo HomeDesigner, 3D Deck, Electrical Wiring and the Home Improvement Encyclopedia.

Home Architect is a full multimedia experience and recommended hardware configuration is definitely an absolute minimum for this package. It needs a system with plenty of grunt.

I liked the side-by-side 2D/3D views and there is the widest range of construction and decorating elements in the menus. The materials list tallies up the buildings materials as you go and allows you to connect to manufacturers websites to get product details.

All the manufacturers are American and while some products may be available in other parts of the world, it would be unwise to assume that the export products were identical to those intended for US use.

Home Architect has a multimedia, even game-like quality in both display and operation.

3D Deck is a deck design tool. There’s lots of multimedia advice on building a deck but the construction details and timber types are likely to be unknown to builders and DIYers outside the USA and Canada.

If you’re not a licensed electrician, don’t even look at Electrical Wiring and if you are, then you don’t need to. Our recommendation is that electricity is far too dangerous for an untrained person to get involved with.

Photo HomeDesigner is software that allows you to alter and redecorate a scanned image of your house or interior. Some fun maybe, but unlikely to provide results on which you could base expensive decisions.

I didn’t load the Home Improvement Encyclopedia although I did read the included book on Home Repair Essentials. Some good tips and handy for any home owner who like to buckle on the nail bag occasionally.
